Paul Heidenheim was a gifted and talented student who enrolled in our 6 month FAT Program in 2009. He was a very caring person and an excellent role model for "paying it forward". He quickly excelled at his work and was always willing and eager to assist other students with their work. Paul volunteered his time to assist with several EARTHQUEST projects collecting valuable data. Paul also assisted with the Bruce Trail Project by collecting plant data for the upcoming book on the flora of the Bruce Trail. Unfortunately, Paul passed away from cancer in August, 2012. In memorandum to Paul students applying to courses from our Biological Field School may qualify for a scholarship to help offset tuition costs.
To qualify for the scholarship, students should be currently enrolled in an EARTHQUEST Biological Field School course and provide the following documents:
1. A copy of their resume/CV;
2. A copy of their degree or diploma from a recognized university or college;
3. A copy of their transcript;
4. Three references whom we may contact
To apply simply submit these documents along with a 500 word letter stating why you would like to receive a scholarship, how you would use it and how you plan to "pay it forward" to benefit another person through an activity you're planning. The value of your scholarship will depend on the program you're applying to and how much it costs. For most scholarships the value may be the equivalent of the cost of 1 or more courses. You will be notified of the success of your application within 1 week of applying.
